Having secured the approval of the government to start the orphanage and because of the obvious needs of many children in our Bible club, Ngozi province and Burundi in general we believe it is time to start the orphanage. Among the children in our Bible club many of them are orphans and children of extremely poor widows. Also we have street children that we are reaching out too. Some of them are as young as 11, 12 and 13. They don’t have parents, no home to live in, no clothes to wear and they can’t even eat as they should. Some months ago I met 3 of these children smoking cigarette as early as 8am in the centre of the town.

OUR NEEDS

Sustaining the moderate facility for the home. We need bedding or at least mats to start with. Food stuffs to feed the children. Education is free for primary school students but we will need to provide these Children with School uniform, School sandals and other necessary supplies.

Summary

Peace has been restored in Burundi after many years of war which led to destruction of lives and properties. The country is recovering from the effect of the war. There are many Children that are orphaned by the war. Some are orphaned by HIV/AIDS and some just took to the street to secure a means of livelihood. Grace and Glory home project aims at reaching out to vulnerable children and orphans with the sole aim of helping them to accomplish a great future in Christ.

The issue

About 283,000 primary school ages Children in Burundi are not enrolled in School.

53% of all Burundi Children are suffering from stunted growth as a result of a poor or inadequate diet

11% of all Children in Burundi die at birth, with 19% dying before their fifth birthday

It is estimated that there are 400 Children in prison across Burundi with many more in police cells.

Many Children are left unattended to and they need the experience of a family life and love.

Our Approach

One of the approaches of our ministry is to reach out to children and give them hope in Christ. Grace and Glory Home is a missions project meant to take care of Children, a habitation for displaced and vulnerable Children. The Children inhabited will be nurtured holistically till they are equipped to be relevant to the nation and Kingdom of God. Orphans and vulnerable children will be given an experience of family life in the home. After getting them into the home, they will be enlightened and empowered and such children will become indispensable to the Kingdom of God and the nation.

·        Children will have opportunity to learn about God, about the love of Jesus and be saved.

How to be involved

·        Pray for Burundi Children , Grace and Glory Home and the Children

·        Donate regularly to keep the home running and to help more children

·        Adopt a child in the Grace and Glory home and sponsor the child

·        With a donation of $35 (N5,600) you can take care of a Child in the grace and glory home for a month.

·        If you adopt a child you will receive letters from the child, the child’s photo and personal story, you can as well plan a visit to the Grace and Glory Home

·        Sponsoring a child or donating to the home will increase your joy and bring about God’s blessings.

GRACE AND GLORY HOME PROJECT

As we go from places to places and even within our vicinity there are so many orphans and displaced children. We want to bring up these Children in the way of the lord in our orphanage “GRACE AND GLORY HOME”. You can sow a specific seed towards this project.
