MISSIONS CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES IN BURUNDI

Unreached People Groups: Gujarati, Swahili and Arabs of Burundi.
80% of Burundians live in poverty (GDP per capita $615 in 2011)
57% of Children under 5 years suffer from chronic malnutrition
11% of Children in Burundi die at birth & 19% die before their fifth birthday.
There’s Children abuse, as children are left to fend for themselves.
About 400 Children are in prison across Burundi and many more in police cells.
In 2004, there were only five doctors, 28 nurses, and one pharmacist for every 1,000 people.
Missionaries are needed to engage the neglected rural areas of Burundi and the Unreached Minority groups.
